The WRT54G v1 through v4 all work with Tomato or DD-WRT. v5 is a completely different animal with half the memory, but the WRT54GL is the same as WRT54G v1-4 and will work. This information is available in great detail on the Tomato and DD-WRT web sites. -Mike
The old WSB24 may or may not connect to your WRT54G, depending on the type of external antenna connectors you have on the router. I've been told that Linksys changed those connectors on later models. Tomato does indeed have an output wattage hack, but I've left mine at roughly 75% power to feed into the WSB24 without overdriving it. Hope this

I can't comment on the Tomato firmware because I've never used it, but I have two Linksys WRT54G-TM routers running DD-WRT firmware that have been in 24/7 service for 2 years. They are rock solid
